Welcome to the Charlevoix Municipal Airport (KCVX). We are located in the northwestern, Lower Peninsula of Michigan and about a ½ mile southwest of beautiful downtown Charlevoix.

The current airport location was established in the early-to-mid 1950’s (see historic photo below) and has had many upgrades and improvements over the years to its current state today (see 2009 photo below).
CVX features a paved, 4550’ x 75’ runway (RWY 9/27) along with a seasonal turf runway (RWY 4/23). The paved runway is plowed in the winter and has a dual-wheel, weight bearing capacity of 30,000#lbs. The airport has medium intensity runway and taxiway lighting with instrument approaches. Our CTAF/Unicom frequency is 122.8 with our Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) frequency of 122.0; you can get this info over the phone by calling, 231-237-9703. Current enplanement numbers have averaged about 15,000 enplanements annually. We have a primary airport designation and can handle anything from helicopters and single-engine aircraft up to large twin-engine and jet aircraft.
Our terminal building is located on the south side of the airport off US 31. The terminal includes public waiting areas, pilot’s lounge, bathrooms, administrative offices and FBO offices. The terminal also provides free WIFI and internet service. Vending services are offered. The airport also has ample public parking that is plowed, lighted and maintained by the City.
We currently have two charter based operators at the airport, Island Airways and Fresh Air Aviation. Both companies offer flights to-and-from Beaver Island along with additional charter services to other locations. You can reach Island Airways at, 231-547-2141 or on the web at www.islandairways.com.
